Unlock Your Child’s Full Potential

We start to develop language from the moment we are born. Hearing loss has the potential to impact a child’s language development, ability to read and write and influence social skills. So the earlier hearing loss is detected and treated, the better.

At Phonak, we don’t believe hearing loss should hold a child back. For this reason, we have developed a world leading range of paediatric hearing aids, Sky, provided by the NHS.

Sky M

Phonak Sky™ Marvel Combining world’s first technological innovations and child-specific design to support children of all ages.

Sky V

If your child has only just received a hearing aid (and it is not rechargeable), it’s most likely to be Sky V. Sky V is available in a selection of colours to suit your child.

Sky B-PR

If your child’s hearing aid is rechargeable, this is it! Sky B P-R is the only rechargeable hearing aid Phonak offer and has only just been introduced this year.

Sky Q

Sky Q is slightly older technology than the other two options, but is still a great hearing aid. Sky Q is slightly squarer in shape (especially it’s bottom)!

Let Kids Explore The World With Confidence

Phonak hearing aids give your child back the gift of hearing and allows them to grow with the world around them. The perfect hearing aid for your child will depend on various factors such as the degree of hearing loss and the needs of the child. Hearing aids are fitted individually by a paediatric audiologist who will recommend and fit the perfect solution.

We’ve got all sorts of tools which we hope will help adults and children alike, in understanding hearing loss and hearing aids. Scroll down and you’ll find videos, story books, useful apps, and more!

How a Hearing Aid Works

Hearing aids have five basic components: a microphone, amplifier, loudspeaker, battery and a computer chip. The microphone picks up sounds which are analysed by the computer chip, these sounds are sent to the amplifier then to the loudspeaker. Sounds are transmitted into the inner ear and are transformed into electrical impulses, which are picked up by the brain where they are processed. Amazingly, this happens all within nano seconds. Assistive Listening Devices

Hearing aids excel in quieter environments and over short distances, so there are additional products which can also be used to supplement hearing aids, for example at school.
